All too often the process of managing complex events such as band tours or roadshows, or conferences or any event is seen as 'just too difficult' and a great deal of trouble. Contracting with Hillock Productions is one route to reducing the pain.

staff are used to managing events of all kinds, from large corporate conferences
in 'swanky' hotels to band gigs in local pubs to European tours. We have the
expertise to deliver a first class event and the connections to be able to
provide entertainment of the very best quality to an agreed budget.

European Tour Management;
Taking
in seven countries and thirty-plus venues, Hillock Productions was hired to
manage just about every aspect of this bands' 2003, 4, 5 & 6 European
Tours. This included finding and booking venues and liaison with agents /
bookers for others, logistics, sound engineering and stage management, equipment
hire, personal management, contract issues, organising promotional events,
managing and selling merchandise, driving the band, band security and ensuring
accommodation was up to scratch - in fact everything to make the tour as painless
for the band as possible, so that they could concentrate on doing what they
do so well - playing great music. It can also include sourcing Nightliners
from third-parties.
Stage
Management:
Tour
Management in itself is a difficult process, but stage management adds a whole
new dimension. Here the key is to take control of the stage for the whole event
or just that portion of it for which the business is responsible. The support
that Hillock can provide includes stage set-up, instrument tuning, logo and back-drop
locating, provisioning (towels, refreshments and props), artiste, band or cast-member
support, stage security - the list is seemingly endless.
Hillock will accept
responsibility for ensuring that the artiste(s)
have an environment that enables them to perform to their very best.
Provision
of Engineering Staff:
Events
from pub gigs - to national and international conferences and concerts require
more than just planning, they require qualified and committed people to make
them happen too!
Hillock can provide its own and sub-contracted staff from security, through
tour and stage management to engineers for Front of House, Monitors and Lighting
plus the ubiquitous 'roadies'.
Conference
Management:
Over
a period of years we have been involved in the production and staging of conferences
for large corporate organisations and workshops for others.
Confidentialty
does not allow for the companies to be identified but the following sysnopsis
will give an overview of the scale of the challenges we face, how we approach
them and how we find solutions.
During
a period of significant change for one business our staff were asked to mount
two internal conferences for a large, multi-national logistics business - the
first of which was to announce to senior management substantial changes to the
organisation and structure of the business, the second to put on a conference
involving four new business units and the group business.
The first of
these was briefed and achieved in almost total secrecy within a three-week period,
prior to the changes being announced on the London Stock Exchange. This required
venue finding, selection and negotiation, identifying sub-contract providers of
presentation materials, delegate selection and mailing and the writing and provision
of scripts to senior management. The structure of the event, held at Birmingham's
Metropole Hotel at the NEC, was for an initial briefing by the Divisional Managing
Director, then a series of workshops where individuals affected by the changes
were split into working groups as per their new Divisional structure and finally
a coming together of the new business with a motivational session.
The second, some three months later, was for over 600 delegates (including partners and guests) and took the shape of a Group / Divisional 'state of the nation' address followed by four individual business unit conferences and then a full coming together of the Division for a 'where are we going' session. All of this was topped off with a Gala Dinner complete with entertainment. During the day we had to organise 'partner' events to allow the delegates' partners to feel part of the organisation.
How
did we achieve all this? By using in-house resources coupled with specialist contractors,
hotel management and a great deal of detailed planning - the two events came in
on budget
and on time.
Event
Management:
We
have been involved in the staging and management of corporate events large and
small ranging from departmental seminars and workshops to 'A Night At The Opera'.
This includes taking a brief, finding a venue, negotiating rates, finding hotels,
arranging transport and itineraries and ensuring guest satisfaction. Whether you
